Adding Conditions

The platform allows you to add basic logic/conditions to your question sets. Display Condition logic is a great way to drill down question sets based on participants’ answers.

Note: The platform currently supports logic for the following question types

  • Multiple Choice
  • Check Box
  • Sliding Scale
  • Dropdown

Conditions will not be available as an option if the Randomize Question Order option is selected.

Step-by-step guide:

  1. The logic is presented in an if statement format. Ie. if question 1 is yes display question 2. Alternatively the platform features inverted statements; “is not”.
  2. Alternatively the platform features inverted statements; is not.
  3. To add logic to your question sets first make sure that your lead question is a choice-based format, ie. multiple choice, check box, sliding scale, etc.
  4. Add the question you wish to apply logic to next. Select Add Display Condition from the Question Settings page.
  5. This will now allow you to select the previous question you wish to use and the answer choice you wish to base your Display Condition off of.

  6. Clicking the blue is icon will also allow you to toggle between is and is not
  7. Adding another condition will also allow you to choose to display this question based on another answer.
  8. You may toggle between or & and as another condition for your display condition.
  9. Using or will allow you display a question based on multiple scenarios, ie. two answers in the same checkbox question, or answers from multiple questions.
  10. The and feature will allow for a more rigid scenario.
  11. Participants must select the included choices in order to display the following question ie. must select a specific choice from 3 separate questions in order to display the current question.
