Troubleshooting Once Triggers
Problem
Researchers who are experience issues with editing a Once Trigger, such as the prompt not firing.
Solution
A Once Trigger will never fire again for a participant after they have submitted a response for it. In general, any change to a Trigger on the researcher site causes a mobile device to re-schedule that trigger the next time it refreshes. However, the platform will remember the participant id, response, and time stamp from the original Once Trigger and prevent the same trigger from firing again as long as a response is logged.
To reset this, the researcher must either delete the original response from the participant in the response table, thus allowing for the platform to purge the data, or delete the original Trigger and create a new one.
- If a Once Trigger is edited from being in the past to being in the future, it will still not fire for any participants who already answered it the first time around.
