Send A Single Survey

Introduction

Previously, sending a single survey to a single participant required building a new trigger and adding a participant email as a filter using the trigger builder interface. This process was somewhat inconvenient as most users work from the participant activity table once the study is live.

This feature allows users to send one or more participants a one-off survey directly from the participant activity table. Researchers can quickly send surveys to participants on the fly to mitigate missing data, dive deeper into context & events or as the starting point for complex trigger schedules.

How The Feature Works

Step 1 - Select Participants

From the Participant Activity Table, select the participants you wish to send a single survey to.

Step 2 - Survey Settings Modal

Click the ‘Send Participants(s) Survey’ Button to launch the Survey Settings Modal

Step 3 - Configure the Survey and Timing

Select the Survey you wish to send and configure the timing, reminder & expiry settings and customize the notification text. Finally, add a meaningful Trigger Name to make analysis/tracking easier. When you are done, click “Send Survey”

Step 4 - Sync Changes

Click the ‘Sync Changes’ button to push the changes to the mobile applications. As with any trigger, the event will now show up in the trigger logs for the relevant participants.

Step 5 - Editing or Cancelling

You can navigate to the List Triggers Page for the appropriate survey to edit or modify the trigger. The List Triggers page shows the emails of the participants who will receive the trigger to make it easier to identifiy who will be effected by any changes.

Use Cases

Clinical Site Visits

Metricwire users are using this feature to deliver a single survey to a participant device when they show up for a study site visit.

This is streamlining the workflow for study coordinates by providing a quick way to distribute surveys when participants present for their visit to the clinical site.

Expired Triggers

Metricwire users are using this features to send follow up surveys to participants when a trigger has expired to avoid data loss.

This is saving time because researchers can identify compliance issues and take action all from the participant activity table.

Diving Deeper

Metricwire users are using this features to send follow up surveys to participants to gain more context around previous responses or events.
