Why are Upload Speeds Sometimes Different?

When participants answer questions, their responses are logged in real-time. However, in the case of an unstable network connection or zero network access, responses do not necessarily always return to the server at the time the data was collected.

The submission logs seen in the Survey Settings page are generated on the device when a trigger fires and later sent to the server after a successful refresh or a successful response submission.

When a participant has turned off their data or wifi, the response will stay on the device until a connection is re-established. Survey size and media attachments like video or audio may also hamper the upload speed when submitting surveys.

This is why it may appear that at certain times the logs are in real-time and at others, the logs populate at a later time.
