Are Responses Anonymous?

Yes. By default, MetricWire does not include your contact info with your responses. However, if you submit contact info to the researcher as part of a response, the researcher will be able to link your responses to this submitted info.

Each user receives a generated key that is unique to their profile no matter what study they are completing. If a researcher asks you to provide a name within their study, they could identify your pin from this added information.

However, there is an option to take away the anonymity of participants. Toggling Anonymous Results to No will allow a researcher to see the unique id that is generated when a participant joins the system. This option is available within the main study settings page as shown below:

Choosing to see the unique participant id will create a new column Identifier in the active participants table. Not yet registered will display when a participant has not yet created a new account.
